The Hilb Group New England offers clients MyMedicalShopper pricing app

WARWICK — The Hilb Group New England has partnered with MMS Analytics Inc. of Portsmouth, N.H., to provide the local insurance and benefits firm’s clients access to MyMedicalShopper, and MyMedicalRewards, and an employer analytics software package designed to minimize medical costs.

The Hilb Group New England can now deliver MyMedicalShopper’s entire suite of products, which deliver price transparency technology and claims analytics to employers and employees. According to the company, users of the medical price comparison smartphone app saved more than 32 percent on their out-of-pocket medical expenses in 2015.

“They have cracked the code for driving consumerism in health care,” said Robert Calise, managing director of The Hilb Group New England, referring to MyMedicalRewards, a program that “supercharges health reimbursement arrangements,” or HRA, integrated with the MyMedicalShopper shopping platform.

“MyMedicalRewards incentivizes employees to shop for lower-cost health care even when they are not spending their own dollars, as is the case with an HRA. We help each client proactively advance its benefits program in alignment with its long-term business mission, while ensuring cost containment and communication of its value to employees. MyMedicalShopper will be crucial for our clients, and we’re excited to be able to incorporate MMS into our expert solutions for employee benefits and health plan design,” Calise said.

The new capabilities are a significant step toward an improved health benefits environment for clients of the company, the state’s largest independent insurance agency by number of employees and the second largest by number of local employees who provide employee benefit services.

The Hilb Group New England, which has offices across New England, counts Cornerstone Group in Warwick; Midstate Insurance in Worcester, Mass.; Sapers and Wallack in Newton, Mass.; and HR Knowledge in Mansfield, Mass. in its benefits division.

The partnership was also attractive to MyMedicalShopper.

“The Hilb Group New England demonstrates all of the most important qualities that we look for in a partner,” says MyMedicalShopper co-founder and CEO, Mark Galvin. “We are particularly impressed with Hilb’s commitment to thinking outside the box and finding creative solutions to address the pains that employers everywhere are feeling. We’re excited to be teaming up with The Hilb Group New England to deliver innovative solutions that can reverse the trend of rising healthcare costs for individuals and businesses alike.”
