Preservation Society of Newport County to host annual golf outing THE PRESERVATION SOCIETY of Newport County will host its 18th annual Golf Outing, the nonprofit’s major fundraiser to help preserve and protect the organization’s historic properties. The event raises more than $75,000 annually. The event will also include lunch and refreshments on the course, cocktails, a light supper, live and silent auctions, and player awards.

Research fellows discuss Newport KRISTIN POTTERTON and Emilio Ruiz Perez, research fellows for the Preservation Society of Newport County, will each hold research lectures. Potterton will explain how the construction of Newport’s Guilded Age mansions marked the transition from local builders to regional/national contractors. Perez will talk about the close commercial ties between Newport families and Cuba in the 19th century.
