PROVIDENCE – The March of Dimes Rhode Island chapter has named Thomas M. Ryan, chairman, president and CEO of CVS Caremark Corp. (NYSE:CVS), its 2008 Citizen of the Year.
Every year, the chapter honors a local community leader is honored, based on interest and past support.
Ryan was nominated by a Leadership Advisory Council led by William F. Hatfield, Bank of America’s Rhode Island-market president, and Jaymin Patel, CEO of GTECH Corp.

He will be honored June 12, at Marble House in Newport, during a fundraising reception celebrating the 70th anniversary of the March of Dimes. Tickets are $125 and the public is invited to attend.
