Topping off held for Brown engineering building

PROVIDENCE – A topping off ceremony was held recently for the School of Engineering research building under construction at Brown University. The $88 million project will contain specialized facilities or nanoscale and biomedical engineering, as well as two floors of lab space designed to encourage collaboration.
A topping off ceremony typically signals the installation of the highest structural beam in a structure. The building is scheduled to be completed in early 2018. Designed by KieranTimberlake of Philadelphia, it is being built by Shawmut Design and Construction.
