BACKGROUND: Toray Plastics (America) Inc. is the American subsidiary of Japan-based Toray Industries Inc. Founded in 1985, TPA makes polypropylene and polyester film at its North Kingstown facility. The films are used as flexible packaging for food, as well as for packaging that allows medical supplies to be sterilized, among other industrial uses.
