Trinity Rep executive director receives contract extension

PROVIDENCE – Trinity Repertory Company Executive Director Tom Parrish received a contract extension to remain with Trinity Rep through the 2022-23 performing arts season, the nonprofit theater group’s board of trustees announced June 25.

Parrish joined the nonprofit in 2015 and co-leads the organization with Curt Columbus, the theater’s artistic director. Trinity Rep said it has increased ticket revenue by 32% and grown overall earned income by 29% since Parrish joined.

Trinity Rep has also strengthened its relationship with Brown University by creating tuition-free Master of Fine Arts programs in acting and directing.

Last year, Parrish was named as an honoree in Providence Business News’ 2018 40 Under Forty program and Trinity Rep was recognized for excellence at a midsize company at PBN’s 2018 Business Excellence Awards.

“Trinity Rep has incredible momentum right now, and I am honored by and thankful for the board of trustees’ continued trust and support,” Parrish said in a statement. “I look forward to continuing to partner with Curt, the board, staff and artists to achieve even greater artistic, educational and community success, as we pursue our mission of reinventing the public square.”

Trinity Rep Board Chair Suzanne Magaziner said in a statement both Parrish and Columbus have developed “an exceptional partnership with excellent synergy” to the theater group’s “great benefit.”
