Trinity Rep unveils ’09-’10 lineup

PROVIDENCE – Second chances will be the theme of Trinity Repertory Company’s 46th season, which begins in September with the musical Cabaret.
“Starting over and taking up the challenge is something we’re all facing, regardless of ideology,” said Craig Watson, associate artistic director at Trinity Rep. As in the current season, which focuses on meeting change with integrity, change remains at the core of each selection.

After Cabaret, written by Joe Masteroff with music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb, the 2009-2010 season will continue with Shooting Star, a romantic comedy by Steven Dietz, in October and November; the theater’s 33rd annual holiday production of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, from late November through late December; Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, the focus of the Project Discovery Plus education outreach program, in January and February; MacArthur Fellow Sarah Ruhl’s quirky Dead Man’s Cell Phone , in February and March; Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple in April and May; and Pamela Gien’s lyrical and haunting drama The Syringa Tree, also in April and May.
