PROVIDENCE – Trinity Repertory Company will offer free tickets to their production of Like Sheep to Water, or Fuente Ovejuna to any ticket holders from the Ocean State Theatre Company, which abruptly closed its doors in May citing financial reasons, the theater company announced in a press release on Thursday.

“The closing of Ocean State Theatre Company is a loss for the entire arts community of Rhode Island,” said the press release, stating that it would like to celebrate OSTC’s commitment to live theater by welcoming patrons to the remaining performances of their 2017 season, which runs through June 11.

The gesture comes amidst claims from OSTC’s former landlord, Mutual Properties 1245 Jefferson LLC, that the company owes $860,000 in rent, taxes, utilities, late fees, and interest.

Ocean State Theater ticket holders are eligible for up to four tickets per person by calling the Trinity box office at 401-351-4242 and mentioning Ocean State Theater Company, or in person at 201 Washington St. in Providence.
