PROVIDENCE – Tufts Health Plan’s Medicaid HMO coverage in Rhode Island has received accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
The recognition, awarded by the NCQA Health Plan Accreditation, takes into account how health plans manage the delivery of each facet of their product, including doctors, hospitals, and other providers and administration services.

Tufts Health Plan began offering employer-sponsored coverage to Rhode Islanders in 2009, and Medicaid for low-income state residents since 2017. Overall, Tufts covers 23,000 people in the Ocean State.
