URI begins construction on new facility after razing Welcome Center

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – The University of Rhode Island’s Welcome Center has been razed and will be rebuilt as a larger, more up-to-date facility, WPRI-TV CBS 12 reported Oct. 17. The new center will be 11,000 square feet, 12 times the size of the original, and is projected to cost $7.98 million. No tuition or fees
