URI nonviolence center offers Summer Institute

The University of Rhode Island’s Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies is offering a Summer Institute to prepare participants in the art of nonviolent conflict reconciliation.
“The goal is to manage conflict in a way that avoids the destructive aftermath of recrimination and retaliation,” said Dr. Bernard LaFayette Jr., who is the main facilitator.
The Summer Institute will be offered in two levels. Level I runs from July 8 to 21 and costs $600. Level II runs from July 15 to 21 and costs $350. For more information or to participate, visit www.uri.edu/nonviolence/si2007 or e-mail summerinstitute2007@yahoo.com.
