I have seen many changes to our company and industry during the past three decades. Our residential and business customers probably remember them, too.
Some may remember actually having to stand up and walk to the TV to change channels [guilty!]. Some may remember having their movement limited by the length of their phone cord.
Today, innovation has brought us voice remotes, wireless phones and gigabit speeds.
I’m most grateful to work for a company that values and pushes forward exciting innovation, while taking time to prioritize the importance of connecting with others.
Society is more connected than ever. Yet studies have shown that despite this, people actually feel more isolated than ever before. The internet may enable a new generation of telecommuting. But that also means less time spent in personal interactions with colleagues and supervisors.
As we look at our strategy for the next several years, that’s what we are most focused on. We want to help our business customers feel close to us as their provider and to utilize our services to connect more closely with their own customers. We also want to ensure our employees feel close to each other and to the company.
More than anything, I want to look back at this decade in the industry and see innovations and strategies that don’t just provide faster speeds or more channels. I want to see advancements that better connect us to each other and to the world.
