PROVIDENCE – Verizon Wireless ranked No. 1 in the Northeast in the 2018 J.D. Power & Associates Network Quality Performance Study Volume 2, which measures problems per 100 mobile device interactions.

The wireless provider was measured to have 8 problems per 100 device interactions, compared with the regional average of 10. AT&T ranked No. 2 at 12 problems, followed by Sprint and T-Mobile at 13 problems.

“Network operators have taken notice of consumers’ frustration with network quality and performance,” stated Ian Greenblatt, technology, media and telecom practice lead at J.D. Power. “Their efforts are showing up in study results – a majority of consumers are noticing an improvement in network quality.”

Verizon ranked No. 1 in all six regions in the report, including a tie with U.S. Cellular in the North Central region.
