Verizon ranks No. 1 in Northeast for fewest problems per mobile device interactions

PROVIDENCE – Verizon Wireless ranked No. 1 in the Northeast in the 2018 J.D. Power & Associates Network Quality Performance Study Volume 2, which measures problems per 100 mobile device interactions.

The wireless provider was measured to have 8 problems per 100 device interactions, compared with the regional average of 10. AT&T ranked No. 2 at 12 problems, followed by Sprint and T-Mobile at 13 problems.

“Network operators have taken notice of consumers’ frustration with network quality and performance,” stated Ian Greenblatt, technology, media and telecom practice lead at J.D. Power. “Their efforts are showing up in study results – a majority of consumers are noticing an improvement in network quality.”

Verizon ranked No. 1 in all six regions in the report, including a tie with U.S. Cellular in the North Central region.

The report was based on more than 36,000 responses from wireless customers from around the country.

J.D. Power ranked T-Mobile No. 1 in Volume 1 of the study, which ranked full-service carrier purchase experience nationally in February. In that report, AT&T ranked No. 2, followed by Verizon at No. 3 and Sprint at No. 4.
