Veteran of R.I. nonprofits to direct Slater Mill

PAWTUCKET – Slater Mill today announced the hiring of Janice Kissinger, a resident of Lincoln’s Great Road Historic District, as its new executive director.

“We conducted a national search … and it was a very pleasant surprise to find someone with all the qualifications we were seeking virtually on our doorstep,” said John A. Siddall, president of the board of trustees.

Kissinger, most recently a management consultant specializing in nonprofits, has also served as director of institutional advancement at School One in Providence; president and CEO of Leadership Rhode Island; and executive director of both Business Volunteers for the Arts and the Pawtucket Arts Council. Active as a volunteer, she is the treasurer and a member of the executive committee of Rhode Island Citizens for the Arts.

“Slater Mill … combines my passions for nonprofit capacity building, fiber arts and New England history,” she said.
