Washington Trust expects loan growth to pick up as interest, cap rates rise

WESTERLY – Coming off a record-breaking quarter, Washington Trust Bancorp Inc. executives are looking for loan growth to pick up in coming months, as interest and capitalization rates are expected to rise. The Westerly based parent of The Washington Trust Co. reported record-breaking quarterly profit for the quarter ended March 31. Profit grew 37.6 percent
