Washington Trust hosts paper-shredding day Oct. 20

PROVIDENCE – The Washington Trust Co. is offering a free Community Shred Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 20 at some of its Rhode Island branches.

Paper shredding will be offered at Washington Trust branches on Reservoir Avenue in Cranston; Newport Avenue in East Providence; Franklin Street in Westerly; Atwood Avenue in Johnston; Post Road in North Kingstown; Point Judith Road in Narragansett; Tiogue Avenue in Coventry; and Route 117 in Warwick, according to a statement from the bank.

All sensitive documents, such as invoices, sales figures, tax returns, sealed bids, legal paperwork and personnel records, along with normal household paper such as junk mail and magazines, will be shredded visibly, on-site.

Staples, rubber bands, folders and paper clips can stay on the documents set for shredding. There is a two-box minimum per person.
