The Westerly-based community bank has made efforts to prioritize contemporary approaches to employee well-being.

“We understand that a healthy employee is a happy and productive employee, and therefore make an investment in building out comprehensive programs and initiatives that promote a holistic approach to wellness,” said Kristen DiSanto, senior executive vice president, chief human resources officer and corporate secretary.

In 2023, Washington Trust began offering virtual and in-person yoga sessions. The bank also hosts a gardening club and partners on initiatives such as the American Heart Association’s annual Heart Walk.

To spread awareness, the company posts monthly infographics on health and safety topics such as cervical cancer, motor­cycle safety and domestic violence.
