WORCESTER – Worcester, Mass., city officials are making efforts to lure not only the PawSox out of Pawtucket, but also Hasbro Inc., the Worcester Business Journal reported Tuesday.
According to public documents from the Mass. Office of Business Development, Worcester city officials are seeking state help to get the company to come to Worcester, next to the baseball stadium being built to house the Pawtucket Red Sox following its departure from Pawtucket.
No records acquired from Massachusetts included correspondence from the city to the company.
The company has not yet provided guidance on any potential relocation but has previously confirmed it is evaluating its options for a modernized headquarters.
Massachusetts officials have previously said that they are making a concerted effort to lure Hasbro out of Rhode Island.
Not a nice move by the State of Massachusetts and an even lower class move by Worcester which touts itself through a meaningless technicality as the second largest city in New England when on the important broader definition, it is decidedly not.
Agreed! No wonder Roger Williams never went back. And Massachusetts is still trying to steal from Rhode Island. Nothing has changed in 400 years!
