PROVIDENCE – Wells Fargo & Co. has named Michael DiSandro as its commercial banking leader for southeastern and eastern Massachusetts, and he will continue to lead the bank’s Rhode Island team from Providence, the bank announced.
DiSandro’s appointment was part of Wells Fargo’s unveiling of its new commercial banking leadership team for the northeastern United States, serving businesses in New England, western New York and eastern Canada.

Wells Fargo Commercial Banking typically provides financing and related solutions to business customers with annual sales from $5 million to $2 billion.
Under its new integrated business model, Wells Fargo said it is strengthening and simplifying how it serves local commercial customers. With its newly formed Specialized Industries group, the bank provides expertise across industries such as food, beverage and agribusiness, investor real estate, government and technology, Wells Fargo said.
As part of its new structure, Greg O’Brien has been named division executive for Wells Fargo Commercial Banking’s Northeast Division. Based in Boston, O’Brien oversees 14 commercial banking teams in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York and eastern Canada.
DiSandro, a 30-year banking industry veteran, will oversee commercial banking in southeastern and eastern Massachusetts, as well as the Providence-based Rhode Island team, which he helped establish in 2016 as part of Wells Fargo’s New England expansion.
