WEST WARWICK – A Superior Court judge on Thursday authorized the sale of the West Valley Inn to a Cranston-based business owner who plans to reopen the banquet hall.

Associate Justice Brian P. Stern approved the $1.2 million sale of the 12-acre site, which has been in receivership, to Roy A. Lacroix, Sr., according to a court spokesman.

The sale was approved with no contingencies. A closing is scheduled for July 27.

The West Valley Inn closed last summer after nearly 40 years of continuous operation, and later was placed in receivership. The receiver, Richard Land, had recommended the sale to Lacroix.

Lacroix, who grew up in West Warwick, previously owned a food business, Lacroix Food Services, he said last week, in a brief interview.
