WESTERLY – The R.I. Division of Motor Vehicles branch in Westerly will be closed through Oct. 31 for a building renovation project including elevator repairs, the DMV announced Wednesday.
To minimize the inconvenience, the DMV will expand the days of operation at its Wakefield branch to include Fridays starting Sept. 8 until further notice.

“We regret any inconvenience this causes for our customers in the Westerly area, but we have to provide visitors a safe and accessible location to conduct DMV transactions during this construction period,” said R.I. DMV Administrator Walter R. Craddock.
