
WESTERLY – A historic, oceanfront home sold after 11 days on market for $7,425,000, the highest sale in the town in more than a year.
The sale of 12 Westerly Road, in the Watch Hill area, was announced Friday by Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty, and is the third-highest in the state of Rhode Island this year.

The eight-bedroom, six-bathroom home has 7,266 square feet of interior space and is included on the National Register of Historic Places, according to the listing. The original list price was $8.2 million.
The house, called “Wickiup,” includes ocean views, recent interior renovations, two large fireplaces, a 1,200-bottle wine cellar and original fir floors.
The sellers were represented by Donna Simmons, sales associate for Mott & Chace Sotheby’s International Realty. The buyers were represented by Bill Hecker, also of Mott & Chace.
