W&I OB/GYN among 2022 Aspen Ascend Fellows

PROVIDENCE – A Women & Infants Hospital OB/GYN is among the 2022 Aspen Institute Ascend Fellows, a national group of physicians, educators, social workers and others who care for young children across various sectors.

Dr. Emily Miller, division director of maternal-fetal medicine at W&I, is among 22 leaders whose focus is on “mindset and systems change to ensure our youngest children and families thrive,” according to Aspen. “The 2022 cohort includes a commitment to building services and policies designed by and for parents and caregivers to drive national early learning, racial equity and family well-being in systems of care and well-being as well as solutions and learning from indigenous wisdom and cultural traditions.”

The group will meet in person four times over the next 18 months as members develop their own localized action plans to eliminate inequities and disparities for young children and families.
