Gail Wilcox has been promoted to supervisor at Cayer Caccia LLP. She is primarily responsible for managing the firm’s audit engagements, quality-control program and continuing education programs. Wilcox has a B.S. in business administration from the University of Rhode Island and has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting and finance.

PBN: What kinds of clients are represented at Cayer Caccia and how is the company unique?
WILCOX: There are many types of clients represented by the firm, from individuals to business clients, including closely held corporations and partnerships, nonprofits, municipalities and government agencies. Because our firm is relatively small, clients benefit by getting personalized, quality service from a dedicated staff. The firm’s partners bring 80-plus years of public accounting experience to our clients.

PBN: What are you looking forward to in your new position?
WILCOX: Previously, I worked in public accounting and had redirected my focus to work in private industry, but within financial services. I returned to the public accounting industry, and I continue to look forward to interacting with the clients, working with the Cayer Caccia staff and assisting clients in meeting their financial needs. Among my numerous roles, I am responsible for managing ongoing audits and attestation engagements, an industry standard firms use to offer an opinion on financial forecasts and projections, financial statements, internal control and audit reviews, among others.

PBN: What are the continuing education programs at Cayer Caccia?
WILCOX: I have been given the responsibility to manage CPE programs, coordinate staff and make sure that the firm fulfills requirements to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants. I will assist the partners with providing professional staff for the programs that will give us advanced training. … The staff benefits from ongoing professional development. The programs consist of in-house training with industry professionals, state and national CPA society seminars, and self-study programs. CPE goals include obtaining advanced training and the technical experience required to provide our clients with excellent financial expertise in a dynamic financial environment. &#8226
