REHOBOTH – Plans to build a compressor station in Rehoboth were put on hold, according to WPRI on Thursday.
The company behind the plan, Enbridge Inc., withdrew its application for the station from the Federal Regulatory Commission for the Access Northeast pipeline project.
A spokesperson was quoted blaming what he calls an inconsistency of energy policy in the region as the reason the compressor station hadn’t been immediately approved.
Many residents of the area are opposed to the station’s installation.
Enbridge expects to refile plans for the compressor station as soon as possible.
