PROVIDENCE – Four regional hospitals were ranked among the best in the United States, according to an analysis by Newsweek and its data partner Statista. Newsweek and Statista listed the 416 best medical facilities across the U.S. as part of its “World’s Best Hospitals 2026” ranking that scored hospitals from 32 countries around the world.

PROVIDENCE – Four regional hospitals were ranked among the best in the United States, according to an analysis by Newsweek and its data partner Statista. Newsweek and Statista listed the 416 best medical facilities across the U.S. as part of its "World's Best Hospitals 2026" ranking that scored hospitals from 32 countries around the world. To create the U.S. and World rankings, Newsweek and Statista evaluated more than 2,500 hospitals. Each was given a score from medical experts on four data sources: recommendations from medical experts, including doctors, hospital managers and other health care professionals; hospital quality metrics; existing patient experience data; and Statista’s Patient-Reported Outcome Measures Implementation Survey, a standardized, validated questionnaire completed by patients to measure their perception of their functional well-being and quality of life. Among the best in the U.S., Rhode Island Hospital ranked No. 288, Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River ranked No. 301, Newport Hospital ranked No. 348 and Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River ranked No. 393. The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota ranked No. 1 in both the U.S. and the World, according to Newsweek. University Health Network - Toronto General Hospital in Toronto; Cleveland Clinic in Ohio; Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset in Stockholm, Sweden; and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston rounded out the top five in the World rankings. Hospitals in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States of America were selected using multiple comparability criteria, including population size, life expectancy, standard of living, hospital density and the availability of reliable data.
