7 R.I. schools on Forbes ‘America’s Top Colleges’ list

PROVIDENCE – Seven Rhode Island colleges and universities were ranked on Forbes “America’s Top Colleges” list, released Wednesday.

The list, comprised of the top 650 colleges, focused on postgraduate success, student debt, the student experience, graduation rate and academic success.

Brown University ranked No. 9 on the list, the highest of any school in the state, and No. 6 in the Northeast region rankings.

The next Rhode Island college on the list was Rhode Island School of Design, which was ranked No. 103.

Providence College ranked No. 151 on the list and Bryant University ranked No. 183.

In Bristol County, Mass., Wheaton College ranked No. 110 and Stonehill College ranked No. 212 on the list.

Harvard University ranked No. 1 on the list, followed by Stanford, Yale, Princeton and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
