From March 4th-15th, Rhode Island will be the host of the third annual Until the Violence STOPS: Rhode Island arts and theater festival. Part of the V-Day international movement, the festival engages Rhode Islanders to get involved in working to end violence against women & girls.

Created by noted playwright Eve Ensler, author of “The Vagina Monologues”, the non-profit organization V-Day (www.vday.org) is working around the world to end violence against women and girls.
The Rhode Island Pussy Posse, a group of more than 30 RI women & men who volunteer their time and energy towards ending violence against women & girls, will host the third UTVS: Rhode Island festival, with more than 20 events around the state including productions of “The Vagina Monologues” in both English & Spanish, a slam poetry night, “Any One of Us” – writings from women in prison, a Bawdy Broads night, a Red Tent day sponsored by RI Rentals, a Sex Trivia night, a V-Men conference, and a film festival.
This year’s festival is being sponsored by The Renaissance Providence hotel and the Providence Phoenix, and each event of the festival will raise funds and awareness for a local organization that is currently working with women & girls in Rhode Island.
