Press Release | Providence |Sept 18 – Mosaic is proud to announce its grand opening in Providence and invites the Media to take part in the ribbon cutting ceremony and sample a culinary feast from the variety of unique and succulent dishes Mosaic has to offer.
The name Mosaic was created in honor of Executive Chef Winston Guerrero and General Manager Eduardo Gomez Junior’s grandmother. “My grandmother, Rafaela, had a deep appreciation for travel and she admired and respected all cultures,” says Guerrero. “Our goal at Mosaic is to create a menu and atmosphere that honors the way our grandmother raised us and to pass that on to our patrons.”
Guerrero grew up in Central Falls, he served in the US military and is a Johnson and Wales graduate. He has been a chef for over 12 years, with experience at the four-star Relais & Chateaux Morrison House in Alexandria, the Grand Hyatt New York and the Peninsula in New York City. In addition to his mastery of fine cuisine, Guerrero received a certification in Pastry Arts from the French Culinary Institute in New York and has served under David Burke at David Burke & Donnatella Restaurant.
With so many popular food shows featuring Chefs from around the world, Rhode Island now has their own taste of a Latin American chef that is sure to shine. Mosaic offers traditional dishes inspired by street foods from Latin America: Caribbean, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay.
Located in Rising Sun Mill complex in the up-and-coming Valley Street neighborhood, Mosaic occupies a handsome brick building typical of the city’s historic textile mills.
