
CVS Caremark Corp., which is being investigated for antitrust behavior by attorneys from 24 states and the Federal Trade Commission, is coming under increasing pressure to split up four years after CVS and Caremark merged, the New York Times reported, citing a joint letter from consumer groups.
The groups, which include Community Catalyst, the Consumer Federation of America, the Consumers Union, the National Legislative Association on Prescription Drug Prices, and U.S. Pirg, said consumers’ interests had been harmed and the company had used patient information freom Caremark to steer customers to CVS pharmacies, the newspaper said.

Carolyn Castel, a CVS Caremark spokeswoman, said the company was cooperating with the investigations and had complied fully with antitrust laws, the NYT said.
