Rhode Island wins two awards for its website

PROVIDENCE – Add some more awards to RI.gov’s growing list of acclaim.
The state’s website recently received two new honors: the Web Marketing Association’s WebAward for site excellence, and acceptance by Harvard University’s Ash Center into the Bright Ideas program for the R.I. Department of Business Regulation’s Online Liquor Compliancy Service.
According to a news release, the Web Marketing Association’s WebAward competition was judged by a team of independent Internet professionals representing a variety of relevant disciplines of website development.
Harvard University’s Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the John F. Kennedy School of Government selected 173 government programs chosen for its Bright Ideas program.
In its inaugural year, Bright Ideas is designed to recognize and share creative government initiatives around the country with interested public sector, nonprofit and academic communities.
The recognition bring RI.gov’s award total for the year to six. &#8226
