“For more than 50 years, Tyco Flow Control has remained committed to supporting the nuclear power industry,” said Tyco Control President Patrick Decker. “The facility’s advanced capabilities and technology exemplifies this commitment and allows us to continue to support the industry’s leading nuclear reactor manufacturers worldwide.”
The Mansfield facility was purchased by Tyco Flow Controls in January 2009 to relocate the company’s Wrentham, Mass., operations to a more modern and efficient building. It became operational in October 2009, but the ribbon cutting ceremony was delayed until now due to the installation of new testing equipment.
The new location operates within the Tyco Valves & Controls business line, employing 96 people. The majority of the employees were transferred from the Wrentham facility, with five positions created since last October.
“Tyco Flow Control’s professionals have the engineering capability and knowledge to solve our customers’ complicated challenges, regardless of reactor type or code,” said Achim Trasser, vice president and general manager of global power, Tyco Flow Control.
In the next year, an additional five positions are expected to be added to support engineering, quality assurance and nuclear products provided by the Mansfield facility.
“Having the ability to assist both our customers and other manufacturers with the advanced testing technology at the facility allows us to expand our capabilities in the power industry even further,” said Trasser.
Tyco Flow Control is a global provider of water and environmental systems as well as thermal and flow control solutions. The manufacturer develops its products and services within three business lines: Tyco Valves & Controls, Tyco Water & Environmental Systems and Tyco Thermal Controls.
