Lighthouse Computer launches ‘virtualization’ group

LINCOLN – Lighthouse Computer Services Inc. has launched a new subsidiary, Lighthouse Virtualization Group LLC, to help clients better plan and implement virtualization infrastructure.
The new entity, based in Lincoln with a satellite office in New York City, will be headed by Michael Rennell and Peter Heigis.
The duo recently joined Lighthouse from Foedus Group LLC, where they had held leadership positions before that company’s acquisition this January by VMWare Inc. Rennell, as corporate vice president, had been responsible for driving business development and marketing of virtualization infrastructure services at Foedus. Meigis had been responsible for the firm’s VMware architecture, design and implementation.
“Many of our customers already view virtualization as the best way to more effectively utilize their storage and server environments, while improving the speed and reliability of their IT systems and lowering energy costs,” Tom Mrva, president of Lighthouse Computer Services, said in a statement this week.
“As we continue to build our range of service offerings, we concentrate on hiring the highest caliber talent available. We are very excited to have Mike and Peter on board to help us build our virtualization practice.”
Lighthouse’s virtualization consultants hold IBM, VMware and NetApp certifications, among others.
