The Department of Environmental Management (DEM) has announced that regulations increasing beach, camping and golf fees were filed with the Secretary of State on April 3rd and will take effect on April 23.
The increased fees will maintain current services in light of severe budget constraints, and are comparable to fees charged by neighboring states.

Daily beach parking fees for residents will increase from $4 to $6 on weekdays and from $5 to $7 on weekends and holidays. Non-resident beach parking fees will increase from $8 to $12 on weekdays and from $10 to $14 on weekends and holidays. Season passes will increase from $25 to $30 for residents and $50 to $60 for non-residents.
Camping fees for residents, currently ranging from $8 to $12 will increase to $14 to $20. Non-residents, who currently pay from $12 to $16, will pay from $20 to $35.
Golf fees at Goddard Memorial State Park will increase from $6 to $12 per round on weekdays and from $8 to $14 on weekends, with seniors paying half-price at all times. Senior citizens who were among the 20 or so people attending a public hearing on March 15 had objected to that increase.
