AIA Rhode Island awards recognize 23 notable designs

PROVIDENCE – Annual awards bestowed by the American Institute of Architects Rhode Island chapter have recognized 23 notable designs, according to a post on the chapter’s website. 

The highest merit awards, called the Honor awards, went to the following submissions: 

  • Residential category: Hither Hills House, designed by 3SIX0 Architecture, Providence. 
  • Commercial/industrial category: WaterRower World Manufacturing Headquarters, designed by Union Studio Architecture & Community Design, Providence. 
  • Civic/Infrastructure category: Chicago Horizon, designed by Ultramoderne, Providence.

The juried review was comprised of members from the San Fernando Valley, Calif., chapter of the AIA. The annual award program recognizes design excellence in projects in Rhode Island, or those designed by Rhode Island-based architects.
