CRANSTON – Alex and Ani LLC has been chosen to participate in the second-annual New York Fashion Tech Lab as a returning founding member.
Alongside other retailers, such as Macy’s, Estee Lauder Companies Inc. and Kate Spade & Company, Alex and Ani will mentor companies involved in the fashion-tech industry.
Established by Springboard Enterprises and Partnership Fund, the New York Fashion Tech Lab was created to promote growth in fashion technology innovation, job creation in New York City and overall, economic prosperity.
The program will consist of seminars, events, forums and workshops, where chosen startups will learn from and collaborate with companies leading the fashion tech space.
“We are excited to continue our part in accelerating the intersection of fashion and technology by enabling the most promising startups in New York to understand how to do business with brands like ours while proving commercial value at a rapid pace,” Ryan Bonifacino, senior vice president digital at Alex and Ani, said in a statement. “Through the NYFTL we also provide meaningful advancement to the gender gap with girls and women in technology, an initiative very important to our organization.”

Alex and Ani will be working with two startup companies, contributing fashion industry and tech knowledge, guiding each through their innovations as well as beta testing.
At the end of the program, each startup will get to present in front of industry leaders, retail executives, interested investors and press.
