Aramark volunteers to help City Year<br> refurbish Elmwood Community Center

PROVIDENCE – Volunteers from Aramark Corp. will team up with City Year corps members this Saturday to restore the Elmwood Community Center on Niagara Street. R.I. Sen. Juan M. Pichardo, Rep. Grace Diaz and City Councilman Miguel Luna will lead the 9 a.m. opening ceremony. Mayor David N. Cicilline also plans to pitch in, the company said.
Service projects planned for this weekend include landscaping the grounds around the community center; refurbishing its basketball court, gym and clothes-storage room; making needed repairs; painting interior rooms; and adding inspirational murals.
More than 125 Aramark employees and their families are expected to take part, through the Aramark Building Community. The program aims to enrich the lives of families in need by supporting local community centers.
