VITAL SUPPORT: Bank of America Corp. awarded two Rhode Island nonprofits $200,000 each in grant funding, as well as a year of leadership training for their executive directors and an emerging leader within their organization. The award includes connecting the nonprofits with peer organizations across the country and the opportunity to access capital for their needs. The Jonnycake Center for Hope, in South Kingstown, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Providence were recipients of Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders 2020 award. The nonprofits were selected for their work addressing issues fundamental to economic mobility and furthering economic and social progress of individuals and families in low- to moderate-income communities. Both nonprofits address social inequity as part of their mission. Since 2004, Bank of America has invested more than $260 million in 50 communities through Neighborhood Builders, partnering with more than 1,300 nonprofits and helping more than 2,600 nonprofit leaders strengthen their leadership skills.
