More than 30 vendors participate in Blount’s annual on-site health fair. One vendor regularly brings InBody’s popular medical-grade body-composition analyzer, which locates fat, lean body mass, minerals and body water.
On-site offerings now include massage therapy, flu-prevention clinics, dermatology screenings and dental cleanings.

Along with the fair and offering Doctor on Demand Inc. virtual video visits, the company also hired its first wellness resource advocate in Jessica Vanover. Since last fall, a wellness committee of second- and third-shift employees has apprised Vanover about employees’ health needs on those shifts.
Blount has also balanced healthier options with treats in its vending machines, especially important for employees working outside most restaurants’ hours.
“Everybody needs a little bit of chocolate,” Vanover said.
With COVID-19, Blount was by mid-March conducting health screenings of employees as they arrived to work.
