PROVIDENCE – Volunteers from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island and from Point32Health, the Massachusetts-based nonprofit that owns Pilgrim Health Care in Boston and Tufts Health Plan in Providence, lent a hand across the state during two separate volunteer efforts in September.
On Sept. 24, nearly 500 Blue Cross employees took part in the 10th Blue Across Rhode Island event, an annual statewide day of community service. This year, Blue Cross worked with 13 nonprofits on projects, including building affordable housing, revitalizing outdoor spaces and packaging shoes for homeless children.
