When Blue Cross began working remotely in mid-March, it created a “well-being from home” guide offering valuable resources, including virtual mindfulness, caring for children at home, virtual fitness classes and workout apps.

In July, Blue Cross combined its commitment to charitable giving with physical activity by sponsoring a virtual food drive. The Step Up to End Hunger challenge, was a charity challenge that combined the importance of staying active and healthy with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank’s work. Hillary McCurley, Blue Cross’ chief human resources officer, said this effort will translate into a donation to the food bank.
Blue Cross also offers associates mindfulness seminars, financial education and planning sessions; a no-cost on-site fitness center; virtual town hall events; and a farmers’ market delivery service.
