The Greater Providence Board of Realtors recently held its 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Alpine Country Club in Cranston. The tournament raised $19,500 for the benefit of several local charities including Hasbro Children’s Hospital Child Life Program, The Rhode Island Community Food Bank and the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ “Marvin’s Fund.”
The proceeds were distributed to the charitable organizations at the Board’s 102nd annual meeting and luncheon held at the Squantum Association. During the same ceremony, Realtor of the Year and the Lear Award were given to two members of the Board of Realtors. Karl A. Martone, broker associate with RE/MAX Properties in Smithfield, was selected as the 2008 Realtor of the Year. Pamela Anderson Sparn, owner and partner of Keller Willaims Realty in Cranston, was named recipient of the Lear Award.
Martone, who is the annual golf tournament co-chair, received his award and acknowledged all the hard work and efforts of the volunteers and sponsors who made the Charity Golf Tournament possible. “On behalf of the Greater Providence Board of Realtors,” he said, “we are very pleased to contribute to these remarkable charities that do so much for our community.” •
