“Joyful Cooking….” was presented with the Independent Publishers Editor’s Choice Award this year. Her book, which addresses the concept of “nutritional balancing”, has over 100 recipes and provides an opportunity to improve eating habits with knowledge and creative recipes. Her chosen ingredients are able to balance, restore, and heal, and are for all individuals in pursuit of good health.

Feldman says, “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to share my story and how I became involved in health and healing.” Feldman, who is an attorney, became ill with a debilitating autoimmune disease 19 years ago that left her nearly unable to move from the neck down. After trying many different modalities of healing, she found one that helped reverse her disease. As a result, she switched careers from law to nutrition, studying holistic nutrition, and now provides counseling and consultation services locally through the Wickford Chiropractic & Wellness Center in North Kingstown, and worldwide to a network of clients

“My clients urged me to put together a book to help them better understand nutritional balancing, and this book is dedicated to the pursuit of good health,” Feldman said. Feldman also includes kid friendly recipes designed to tantalize even the pickiest palate. “This actually led to my next book coming out soon, addressing children directly, and from a position of humor to get across the message that we truly “are what we eat”. With the whimsical title of “Is Your Hair Made of Donuts?” the book is a laugh-out-loud, delightful picture book, which tells a story through the tales of two siblings, Matt & Maddie. This book is set for release early in 2012.

Feldman and her husband, a physician with The Orthopedic Group, are the parents of a 20-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter, and live in East Greenwich, RI.
