Kristi Brewster has been promoted to senior recruiter at Bridge Technical Solutions. She will be responsible for providing total customer satisfaction for the information-technology staffing firm. Brewster will manage a team of recruiters and staff as well as third-party sourcing partners. She has a B.S. in business from the University of New Haven in Connecticut.

PBN: What types of services will you help the company provide?
BREWSTER: Bridge Technical Solutions provides contract and permanent staffing services for customers’ information-technology needs. These services involve sourcing, recruiting, qualifying, skills testing, background and reference checking, and assistance with on-boarding. We handle the total IT recruiting function for our customers using a process which has been engineered over the years and continuously improved with input from our customers and IT professionals.

PBN: What are you looking forward to in your new position?
BREWSTER: Increased customer contact. I am responsible for helping to define our customers’ requirements. Oftentimes, the job description covers required technical skills but doesn’t cover the soft skills or cultural aspects that may make a placement a success or failure. By working closer with our customers, I will be able to make a better match for the information-technology professional that will move into the position. Getting to know the customer will also help me “sell the candidate” on the company.

PBN: Increasingly, larger companies are seeking staffing solutions for their IT departments. Have you seen an increase in permanent positions or temporary employment?
BREWSTER: Over the past year our contract business has remained firm while we have seen a strong increase in the demand for permanent placements. The permanent placement job market for strong IT talent in Rhode Island has been expanding and we’re seeing it in growing requests from existing and new clients.

PBN: You mentioned that Bridge Technical Solutions’ uses an engineered recruiting process. What does this mean and how has this served your clients?
BREWSTER: Many of our customers are very sophisticated in their hiring practices. They expect their staffing partners to provide the same level of service for every position worked. At Bridge Technical Solutions we have engineered a repeatable recruiting process that delivers high-quality matches for IT professionals and customers. •
