How do you feel about the government mandating that every American buy health insurance? What about a mandate for employers? And do you think coverage should be portable, so people can keep their health plan if they change jobs, or become unemployed?
These are the kinds of questions being asked in a joint survey launched by the Rhode Island Business Group on Health, local members of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Smaller Business Association of New England.
The three groups are polling their members and plan to share the results of the poll, which closes on Friday, Sept. 11, with their members and with Rhode Island’s congressional delegation at a joint meeting in October.
Other issues addressed in the survey include individual and small-group market reform, premium subsidies for the poor, health insurance exchanges, “standard” health plans, the optimal role for government in the health care system and the potential for tax hikes.
