Carnegie Abbey gets ‘five-star’ rating

PORTSMOUTH – The 400-acre Carnegie Abbey Club last week was awarded a five-star rating in two categories by the International Americas Property Awards Competition, an annual development contest sponsored by CNBC and The New York Times.
The ratings were awarded in the Best Golf Development and Best High-rise Development categories. It was one of two U.S. golf developments to earn the rating – the other was Pronghorn in Bend, Oregon – and one of three high-rises.
The 22-story, 220-foot high-rise Carnegie Tower is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year and is about 50-percent sold, according to developer O’Neill Properties Group LP.
Designed by Burt Hill Architects, it’s adjacent to an 18-hole golf course and overlooks Narragansett Bay.
