PROVIDENCE – In a mid-December vote, Citizens Bank employees chose to donate $35,000 raised by the company’s employee base to Children’s Friend via the Citizens Charitable Foundation.
“Children’s Friend is grateful for the generosity of Citizens employees and the Citizens Charitable Foundation. We are thrilled that Citizens employees trust our agency to put it to good use for children in need in our community,” said David Caprio, Children’s Friend president and CEO.

Part of a larger $240,000 initiative to fund local nonprofits across the bank’s network, employees believed Children’s Friend aligned with the company’s areas of giving interest: financial literacy, hunger and strengthening communities.
This is one of 15 grants awarded across the bank’s 11-state footprint, which was funded by donations to the foundation made by Citizens colleagues during the annual payroll giving campaign, as well as $200,000 in personal donations pledged by the bank’s executive committee at the end of 2016.
