PROVIDENCE – The R.I. Film & Television Office and the Providence Department of Art, Culture and Tourism announced last week that filming will commence for director Michael Corrente’s biopic based on former Providence Mayor Vincent “Buddy” Cianci.
The movie, “Prince of Providence,” will begin filming in August. The screenplay is being adapted from Michael Stanton’s book of the same name.
The cast is slated to include Dermot Mulroney, Adam Goldberg, Bradley Cooper, Ed Burns and Oliver Platt, who will portray Cianci. Robin Williams is currently in negotiations to join the cast. •
