BRISTOL, R.I., Nov. 9, 2012 – Members of the greater community are invited to join students, faculty
and staff from Roger Williams University and the Roger Williams University School of Law at two Veterans Day remembrance ceremonies on Monday, Nov. 12.

At 11 a.m., at the University Flagpole near the Administration Building on the University’s Bristol campus at One Old Ferry Road, RWU’s Reserve Officer Training Corps Cadets will lead a ceremony to honor those who have fought in past wars as well as those currently serving in the military.

The ceremony will have an emphasis on honoring women in the military. Chief Master Sergeant Lori A. Ashness, the first female selected as First Sergeant for the 143rd Airlift Wing Support Group, will serve as honorable speaker. Guests will have the opportunity to place carnations at the base of a wreath that honors the memory of those in the military.

In a separate ceremony starting at 3:15 p.m. near the School of Law, U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, as well as Captain Michael Jolin of the Rhode Island National Guard, will join RWU President Donald Farish, RWU Law Dean David Logan and members of the law school community in rededicating a memorial tree that honors fallen alumnus and veteran Nathan J. Schuldheiss ’05L. The special agent from the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations was killed in Iraq in November 2007.
