CRANSTON – IPOWER Applications Inc., a portfolio company of American Capital Partners, yesterday announced the launch of its flagship child Internet monitoring software.
The Web portal, called Home PowWow, allows parents to monitor the family’s activity anytime, from anywhere. This enables parents to protect children from such lurking dangers of child predators, classroom bullies and peer pressure, the company said in its rollout announcement.

PowWow is an online monitoring portal that allows parents to set security permission levels they deem appropriate for their children. Parents can receive updates via e-mail and cell phones, notifying them of any dangerous or inappropriate activity on a home computer.
That allows parents to monitor a child’s behavior on the Internet, including visits to Web sites deemed inappropriate. PowWow also aims to protect children from online predators, classroom bullies and other problems that may arise in instant messaging (IM) or chat rooms, IPOWER said.
The company also offers KaZipster, a Web-based platform that allows registered users to log in from any Internet computer, providing a mobile yet regulated computing environment.
